Study Finds Disconnect Between B2B Marketers and Buyers

Raising the Stakes to Ensure Local News ThrivesB2B brands claim they are doing a great job of personalizing content. But buyers don't agree.

For one thing, marketers are prioritizing long-form written content like white papers (42%) and ebooks (30%).

But customers prefer user reviews (64%), product tours (43%) and videos (33%), according to The Experience Disconnect: 2021 B2B Marketing, a study by content experience platform Uberflip.

In addition, 61% of buyers say relevant content is the top driver for taking action or engaging with the vendor on a website or other digital property. Yet relevant content doesn't even make it to the top three in the marketer's playbook, judging by this study.

Verified Enters Into Strategic Alliance with the California News Publishers Association

Verified Audit Circulation has entered into a strategic alliance with California News Publisher's Association (CNPA).

Working with the CNPA executive management team, Verified will produce the first database containing the circulation of all CNPA members.

"This is an important initial step in the association's positioning for the future," said CNPA President and CEO, Charles Ford Champion II. "Measuring and authenticating our collective reach will strongly enhance our position with advertising buyers. The same audited statewide data also will help the industry make its case more affirmatively with elected and other government officials."

Verified will provide the CNPA with a comprehensive and verified report that incorporates the circulation of all CNPA members. Both audited and un-audited circulation will be included in the report.

"The CNPA recognizes that a publisher's audience is incredibly valuable," said Verified CEO, Tim Prouty. "Audits by Verified tell advertisers and agencies that they are making a smart choice. Publications that are audited stand out and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and transparency."

As well as producing an annual circulation report, Verified is offering all CNPA members a 10% discount on initial Verified audit fees.

"CNPA's member newspapers are in touch with a formidable audience of California consumers and merchants," added Alan Levy, Verified's VP of Marketing & Sales. "We will help CNPA standardize its data presentations for media buyers and deliver the independent, third-party verification that is so critical to advertising sales and legislative advocacy."

More information will be coming in the future from the CNPA.
